Volunteer to help Buffs travel around campus
Give our new cohort of Buffs a warm welcome by volunteering at听 to answer questions and help Buffs navigate campus grounds on Aug. 21 and 22.
Keep track of your speed on CO 119 Diagonal Highway
Since July 21, the Colorado Department of Transportation has been issuing warnings for speed violations on CO 119 as a part of the听. There will be a grace period during which violations will result in warnings mailed to the registered owner of the vehicle. Following the grace period, violators will receive civil penalties of $75.
Road closure on 63rd/61st Street
, 63rd/61st Street between Jay and Valmont roads will be closed until spring 2026. 63rd Street north of Jay Road will have detours during the beginning of construction, and local and business access along 63rd/61st Street will be maintained with detours, which may change throughout construction.
Stat of the month: Avoided gas trips
Did you know,听 now has electric vehicles that you can rent for your daily trips? In the past 12 months, members took just over 380 gas-free trips, avoiding hundreds of gallons of gasoline. Hit the trails by shuttle this season
Even though summer is wrapping up, you can still take advantage of recreational shuttles to get hiking until September and October, depending on the shuttle. Most are free to ride, so take a look at the听 for your next mountain adventure. The City of Boulder has also launched听 to check parking and weather conditions.
Front Range Passenger Rail hit major milestone with interagency agreement
On June 27, Governor Polis, RTD, and other stakeholders all voted to adopt an interagency agreement to enable听 from Denver to Fort Collins. The goal is to start service in January 2029.听
Bikes
Free BCycle memberships for CU Employees
As of August 1, all CU employees with an appointment of 50% or greater are eligible for a听free annual BCycle membership. To sign up, just download the听, select the CU Student and Employee pass and use your CU Identikey email address. This membership gets you unlimited 60-minute rides and normally costs $150 plus tax. By adding employees to the wildly successful program, CU will likely exceed 750,000 annual bike share rides.
Buses
Proposed August 2025 services changes for RTD
will improve reliability and connectivity. If the RTD Board of Directors approves these changes, they will take effect on August 31. The proposed changes include the following:
Boulder Junction Depot Square Station has plans to be reopened. The AB2 and FF4 lines will have service at this stop and will connect to Denver International Airport and Downtown Denver respectively. The AB2 route will be relocated from Downtown Boulder Station and replaced with the AB3 route to avoid confusion.
Reinstate fall and winter service levels for the Dash, Jump, NB1 and Skip routes, and reinstate regular service to the 225 route with an extension to Willoughby Corner.
It is proposed to add more coverage to the FF2, FF4 and FF5 routes during peak hours to support ridership.
Diagonal Highway - CO 119 updates
950 linear feet of bikeway have been completed since the start of construction.
Cameras are now installed on the CO 119 construction corridor. Starting July 21, warnings will be issued, and civil penalties will follow later in the year.
The 55th Street median will be closed until the end of August.

Ongoing closures: The听north and southbound CO 119 bus stops at CO 52,听southbound 55th Street at CO 119 and the听Monarch Road median听are permanently closed. North 71st Street at CO 119 will remain closed until May 2025. IBM Drive, from CO 119 to IBM E. Loop Road, will remain closed until the end of 2025. The听 will remain closed until May 2027.
