  • <p><span>When the volleyball season begins at the University of Colorado – and it won’t be long – the Coors Events Center will become The Court of Three Sisters. </span><span>Coach Liz Kritza believes having three siblings on the same team might be an NCAA Division I first.</span></p>
  • <p>On Saturday, July 12, the University of Colorado Police Department will play softball against the University of Colorado football team for the first time in what is hoped to become an annual event.</p>
    <p>The game will start at 3 p.m. at the East Mapleton Ball Fields, located behind Whole Foods Market near Mapleton Avenue and 30th Street. Officers from other local agencies, such as the Boulder Police Department and the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, have also been invited to play. The university community and the public are encouraged to attend.</p>
  • <p>Jimmy Mickle is a bio-tech lab assistant, a CU-Boulder graduate who studied chemical and biological engineering, and the winner of this year’s <a href="http://callahan.ultimatecentral.com/">Callahan Award</a> – the equivalent of the Heisman Trophy in USA Ultimate terms.</p>
  • <p>The Pacific-12 Conference and its television partners released arrangements for the first three weeks of the 2014 season for all games covered by their contracts, and the University of Colorado’s two in-state games against Colorado State and Arizona State both will receive maximum exposure.</p>
  • <p>The University of Colorado club triathlon, swimming and diving, and free style ski teams all repeated as national champions in 2014, while the CU club lacrosse team won its first. This past weekend, the CU men's ultimate team won the national championship, bringing the total to five national championsips for <a href="http://http://www.colorado.edu/recreation/clubsports/">CU Collegiate Sports Club</a> teams in 2014. </p>
  • <p>The University of Colorado Academic Progress Rate (APR) report based on information for the four year period between 2009-10 and 2012-13 was released by the NCAA Wednesday with those of all other Division I schools, with CU reporting record news for all 16 of its intercollegiate athletic programs in that time frame.</p>

  • <p>The University of Colorado Boulder plans to break ground May 12 on several new athletics facilities and upgrades to Folsom Field after a record-breaking year of private donations.</p>
    <p>In the past seven months, the CU Athletic Department has made significant progress on the fundraising goals and anticipates meeting that goal in the very near future. Completion of the majority of the project is expected prior to the fall 2015 football season.</p>

  • <p>It took 48 games for the first and second rounds of the 64-team NCAA men’s basketball tournament to be decided, and millions of fans are deliriously awaiting the Sweet 16 to commence later this week.</p>
  • <p>If you’ve ever started a business, you can identify with Ann Elliott. Her startup is lacrosse at the University of Colorado, and it’s been just under two years in the making.</p>
    <p>In the making is not completely accurate, because CU lax remains a work in progress and won’t grow out of that definition for at least a couple of years. But “Annie” Elliott is a patient business woman and her “investors” say they’re in it for the long run.</p>

  • <p>When Rick George was named the sixth Athletic Director in University of Colorado history last summer, one of his first projects he wanted to complete was the development of the athletic department’s first-ever comprehensive strategic plan, similar to ones he put in place at several of his previous stops.</p>
    <p>After nearly four months of input, analysis and planning meetings that involved a broad group of individuals representing athletic staff, current student-athletes, alumni, donors and university representatives, George unveiled the strategic plan Wednesday morning to members of the Board of Regents’ Intercollegiate Athletics Committee at its meeting in Colorado Springs.</p>
